Farmer Climate Change Focus Groups
Wednesday, Jan. 29,  Three sessions, 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. Hamlin Room, upstairs in the entryway of the Miller Building at the Exposition.

Join the University of Vermont at the Farm Show on Wednesday for a focus group on climate change adaptation resources (such as websites, budgeting tools, visual imagery of different management practices). The purpose of this session is to pilot a small set of climate change adaptation tools and resources for farmers specifically in Vermont.  These resources were identified through interviews with farmers, and we would like to hear more from farmers about how to improve these materials and gain insight on new tools and resources that farmers may need.

​PRE-REGISTER:  Farmers will be compensated $50 each for their time, but participants must pre-register with Meredith Niles at mtniles@uvm.edu.

Stories for Young Farmers at the Vermont Farm Bureau
Visit the Vermont Farm Bureau booth at 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. daily during the show for storytime books featuring the the yet-to-be announced 2020 American Farm Bureau Foundation's  AFBF Book of the Year.  We will also have available previous AFBF Books of the year.  The VFB will also  activities for the kiddos to celebrate farming. . 
VPR Vermont Edition Broadcasting Live
Vermont Edition host Jane Lindholm will broadcast her interview program live from the Vermont Farm Show on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at noon. Tune in to Vermont Public Radio or watch the live broadcast at the show. 

 VT Agency of Agriculture, Farms and Markets Workshops 
Wednesday Jan. 29,  8:30 a.m  to 5:30 p.m, Second Floor Conference Room, Expo North.

  • Produce Program Q&A - 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.   The Agency will answer any and all produce and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) questions you may have and connect you with resources to meet the federal safety law.
  • Hemp Program Q&A - 11 a.m. to noon.  The exciting new crop has had rapid growth in 2019.  The Agency Hemp Program will answer any questions about the upcoming season, new state and federal rules and regulations, and provide any resources you may need to get your own hemp crop growing.
  • Media/Social Media workshop - 1 to 2 p.m.  Might a public presence help your agribusiness or your farm?  Learn more about social media platforms and how to utilize them in your community and business space to grow your business.
  • Weights & Measures Small Scale Inspection: All day. The Weights and Measures program will be inspecting small size scales typically brought to farmers markets.  Bring your scale to the Farm Show so you won’t have to get to another inspection later this year!
