Note that The Vermont Farm Show was four days in the 1950's. We would like to know when it changed to three days.
Thanks to everyone for a great show. We're proud to let you know that over 1460 pounds of food, including the donation of ice cream by Kingdom Creamery was donated to the Vermont food Bank. We appreciate your efforts.
Class Winners and Best of Show Exhibitors tab listing is posted. Hit the Full Screen button for easier reading. Congratulations to all who took the time to showcase their talents and Vermont products. We look forward to 2014.
The Farm Show is Vermont’s largest agricultural showcase. For agricultural professionals, it is an opportunity to meet with vendors, preview products and machinery, attend trade as sociation meetings, and network within the greater farm community.
The show also holds wide appeal for the general public. With tractors, live animals, and agricultural products on display, there’s something for everyone at the Farm Show. Young and old alike flock to Consumer Night to see, taste
and buy Vermont products during the Buy Local Market and the Capital Cook-off, 4 to 7 pm, Wednesday.
The Farm Show is many different things to our diverse agricultural population, but to my mind, no one person exemplifies both the spirit of Green Mountain agriculture and our rural heritage, no matter the form, than Annie Burke.
Annie was a link to both the future and the past of all things agricultural in Vermont. She understood the value of educating the urban population while putting politicians to work milking the old hard way on Consumer Night.
In 2013, we will miss not only her wit, but her wisdom and most of all her smile. Our thanks to Bob Eddy for preserving this moment.
Everybody knows the admission and parking to the 2013 Vermont Farm Show is always FREE! But we'd like to give something back, and what better way than food! Please bring a non-perishable item to the Farm Show as a donation and we will make sure we collect all donations and send them to the Vermont Foodbank. Signs will be at drop off areas - Our thanks for paying it forward!
"The Vermont Farm Show Board of Trustees sincerely appreciates the donation of fleece vests by Cabot Creamery. These dark green vests will allow our guests and exhibitors to immediately recognize our staff and some of our board in case a need arises during the Show. Cabot has been a long-standing exhibitor at the Farm Show, and we are very glad they chose to help management by donating the expense of the vests. Thank you!"
Thanks to the Vermont Historical Society and all who shared bits, pieces and images, knowingly or otherwise, through Google Images.
