"WDEV will provide a special "Cow Hour" Musical Interlude during the last day of the Vermont Farm Show - Thursday, January 31st. After speaking with Ken Squier on Saturday during the "Music to Go to the Dump Show", management of the Farm Show and Mr. Squier agreed to a one hour special to honor all the dairy farmers attending the Farm Show and the Dairy Banquet on Thursday. Please listen in to WDEV 550AM throughout the week as they report from the Farm Show, but pay special attention on Thursday as they help honor Vermont's hard working dairy farmers!"

Netaka White is the Bioenergy Program Director for the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund. He will be showing some of the videos, "Bioenergy NOW! Made in Vermont?", that highlight the farmers involved in bioenergy fuel production in Vermont by growing crops, processing animal feed and fuel. The workshop will be an hour long presentation and discussion of the films and information relevant to on-farm feed and fuel production as something VSJF can offer the agricultural community. Carly and Aaron DelSignore Bell are certified organic farmers on the coast of Maine who will report on the findings of their SARE project completed in 2012. The project's aim was to record the affect of four mineral supplements on the health, growth rate and nutritional content of cornish cross boilers. They will address the question: "Does feeding choices such as " colloidal clay, powdered rock minerals, a mineral supplement blend, granular humates, or combinations of these minerals and humates, contribute to better grain utilization, healthier meat and less polluting manure in an organic pasture poultry farming operation?" They own and operate Tide Mill Organic Farm in Edmunds, Maine, a nine generation family farm raising organic meats, vegetables, milk, and balsam products with tradition, integrity and values.
